Truthfulness of Prophecy

In the present time we see many people rising, calling themselves prophets. Most time without questioning or testing the spirit, we just follow them and believe their prophetic utterances. But the question is, are they true prophets who are actually leading to God that we intend to serve, or false prophets who take us to the god we intend not serve. Jesus says that there will be many false prophets – men who don’t teach the truth but pretend to come in the name of Jesus and they will deceive many.
Also, in this present age, things are not moving so smooth, with economic crisis almost everywhere, people seek for solution anywhere, anyhow, and on anything. Making money via Christian way is no more news and this brings about mistranslation of the scripture to suit the people. Some many people are leading others astray by the interpretation they give to bible passages.Though since the time of Jesus Christ the truth has always be revealed to his little ones. So my friends beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ (Col 2:8).
It is written that every spirit must be tested. Yes, who is he or she that is prophesying for you, what kind of fruit is he/she bearing, on whose name is he/she prophesying with and who actually gave him/her the gift of prophecy. One has to be clear on all these, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For you to know the truth you must love the truth which will set you free. Open your heart to the truth, so that it will come and live with you, blessing you with salvation.
Second Thessalonians 2:10 says “and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe lie.” timothy was writing in his letter and he said “ for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they keep themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned to fables”. Friends, don’t be fooled by the fables and lies of the present age, just hold unto the truth which is the word of God.
Finally, I think that what we need is- to read the bible ourselves, get greater understanding of it, and believe it for there is no greater prophecy than that.
